On arrival at Pathankot railway station you will be received by our representatives and will then be transferred to a hotel in Mc Leodganj (The seat of Dalai Lama). Settle down and after lunch set out to explore the town to learn about Tibetan culture. Also your itinerary will include a visit to the residence of The Dalai Lama. Return to the resort for an overnight stay.
Reserve the day for sightseeing at Leodganj – Tibetan Monasteries reflecting the age-old history and culture, St. John’s church, Trichund Peak, Odichi huts, Dallake, Naddi etc In the evening stroll along the roadside bazaar and shop for some ingenious handicraft items and hand-woven cloth materials. Return to Dharamshala for an overnight stay.
Morning after breakfast drive to Manali, a town situated in Kullu Valley. On arrival, check into hotel and the spend the rest of the day engaging in independent activities. Overnight stay at the hotel will be arranged.
City tour visiting Hadimba Temple: An architectural splendor dating back to 1550 AD, this four-storeyed temple is attractive with its pagoda shaped roof and ornate front doorway, adorned with figures and symbols. Situated at a stone’s throw from the tourist office, a steep footpath leads to the temple. Alternatively called as Dhungiri temple, this is the venue for a major festival, held every year in the month of May.
Tibetan Monastery: An ideal place for those who value peace of mind, a visit to the Tibetan monastery here is indeed a desirable one. Famous for carpet weaving and other Tibetan handicrafts, the place is also a shopper’s hangout. .
Temple of Manu, other Tibetan Temples and institute of Tibetan medicines are also included in the itinerary. Most of the Tibetan temples and monasteries have asmall handicraft unit associated with them, where tourists can shop for ingenious crafts and cloth items. Rahalla Falls: These beautiful water falls are situated approx 16 km from Manali, at an altitude of 2,501 m. Nehru Kund: It is a cold water spring located at a distance of 6 km from Manali, along the Keylong road.
Gulaba Camp: Highly picturesque with its intense greenery and misty sky, the place has always been the favorite of shutterbugs!
Rohtang Pass: Bordered by the beautiful Dasohar Lake on its left, Rohtang pass serves as the only way in to the Lahaul Valley. However, it’s only during the months of June to November that the pass is open, offering panoramic views of the mountain. Situated near the Rohtang pass is the Sonapani glacier and the twin peaks ofGaypan are also at a stone’s throw.
Marrhi: 35 km from Manali, is famous for it's natural beauty. Rani Nala: 46 km from Manali. It is the glacier point covered with snow almost all round the year. . Solang Nullah: 14 km north-west of Manali in the Solang Valley, this place offers Himachal Pradesh's best ski slopes. A 300 m ski lift is operated by the Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute. Morning after breakfast drive to Naggar, This town is situated in Kullu Valley. On arrival at Naggar, check into hotel. High above Katrain, on the east bank of the river Vyas , is Nagar. We will arrange for a full day visit to the place.
The Nagar Castle was used to be the raja's headquarters, when Nagar was capital of Kullu Valley. The old fort is built around a courtyard with beautiful views over the valley. Inside the courtyard is a small temple. Within the castle is the Jagti Patt Temple. Inside the temple there is a stone slab 5 ft by 8 ft by 6 inches. The story written on the side of this temple says that it was decided to make Naggar the celestial seat of all the gods. Therefore the gods were transformed into honey bees with herculean power. They cut a stone from Deotiba and carried it through the air to what is now the Naggar Castle.
The temple of Gauri Shankar is at the foot of small bazaar below the castle. Almost opposite the front of castle is the Chatar Bhuj Temple to Vishnu. Higher up thehill is Pagoda like Tripura Sundri Devi Temple and the higher still, on the ridge above Nagar, the Murlidhar Krishna Temple. Up the hill, above the castle is theRoerich Gallery, displaying the artwork of both Nicholas Roerich who died in 1947, and his son, Svetoslav Roerich. It is said that Nagar is the seat of the gods andthat, at times of crisis, the gods all gather by the shrine. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Enjoy a full day excursion visiting Manikaran. The place owes it's name to a legend according to which Naga, the serpent god stole Parvati's earrings (Manikarana) while she bathed in the river. At Siva's command Naga angrily blew them back out of his nostrils, causing a spring to flow. Manikaran has the World’s hottest Suplhur Spring Waters and is a holy place for Hindus & Sikhs alike. Return back to Kullu town enroute visiting the famous Kullu Shawl Industry. On arrival, check in at hotel. Later in the evening enjoy sightseeing at Kullu town. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Morning depart for Rewalsar lake-a pilgrimage centre for Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs is in Mandi district. Shaped quite like a square and with a shoreline of 735 m, this dark jewel rests on a mountain spur and is protected by a variety of dense vegetation. The spot is held sacred by Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists alike. There are three Buddhist monasteries at Rewalsar. It also has a gurudwara that was built in 1930 by raja Joginder Sen of Mandi. Rewalsar has three Hindu temples which are dedicated to lord Krishna, lord Shiva and to the sage Lomas. A small zoo also is maintained near the lake. Overnight at the hotel in Mandi will be arranged.
Morning drive down to Chandigarh. On arrival, check into hotel. Afternoon set out on a guided city tour. In the evening return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
