Day 01: Arrival and Transfer to Darjeeling Welcome to your adventure in the stunning hills of North East India! Our representative will greet you at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Bagdogra Airport (IXB), or Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction). Your journey to Darjeeling, approximately 105 kilometers and a 3.5 to 4-hour drive, begins here. At an elevation of 2123 meters (7001 feet), Darjeeling is celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, sloping tea gardens, and stunning views of Mount Everest, making it the “Queen of the Hills.” Darjeeling is also famous for the UNESCO World Heritage Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, and its iconic tea estates. Check into your hotel for an overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 02: Darjeeling Local Sightseeing (Half Day) Early morning, around 3:45 AM, embark on a journey to Tiger Hill, located at 8000 feet (2440 meters), passing through ancient forests of oak and magnolia. Witness the mesmerizing sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak, weather permitting. On your return, visit the Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial, and Batasia Loop. After breakfast at the hotel, rest for a while before heading out for more sightseeing. Explore the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), the Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (closed on Sundays), a local tea estate, Natural History Museum (closed on Sundays), and the Peace Pagoda. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the area. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 03: Full-Day Excursion to Mirik After breakfast, set off for a full-day excursion to Mirik, located about 60 kilometers away, a 1.5 to 2-hour drive through scenic routes perfect for photography. Mirik is centered around Sumendu Lake and is known for its beautiful gardens, tea estates, orange orchards, cardamom groves, and spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges. Enjoy horse riding and boating at Mirik Lake, surrounded by serene and picturesque settings. On the way back to Darjeeling, you can also visit Pashupati Market in Nepal. Spend the evening exploring the local market area or relaxing at your hotel. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 04: Transfer to Gangtok & Local Sightseeing (Half Day) After an early breakfast, drive to Gangtok, approximately 135 kilometers and a 3 to 3.5-hour journey. Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is a beautiful hill station offering diverse attractions for tourists, from tranquility to adventure. At an altitude of 1670 meters (5480 feet), Gangtok is renowned for its monasteries, mystic rituals, and vibrant festivals. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, White Hall, and the Flower Show. In the evening, stroll around M G Road (Mall) or visit the local shopping center. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 05: Full-Day Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, about 40 kilometers away, a 2-hour drive through the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, home to the red panda and blood pheasant, with Rhododendron and other alpine trees lining the route. Situated at an elevation of 3753 meters (12310 feet), Tsomgo Lake is oval-shaped and about 50 feet deep, usually covered in snow for most of the year. This lake is home to Brahmini ducks and many migratory birds. Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir, a revered site. An optional tour to Nathu La Pass, leading to China, is about 20 kilometers from the lake. Return to Gangtok in the evening for free time at M G Road (Mall) or the local shopping center. Overnight stay in Gangtok. (In case of landslides or any other reason that Tsomgo Lake is closed, an alternate sightseeing option will be provided).
Day 06: Departure – Gangtok to Siliguri / NJP / Bagdogra Airport After breakfast, transfer to Siliguri, New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), or Bagdogra Airport (IXB) for your onward journey. Safe travels!
